The Big 2-5

Last year for my birthday, I accepted my duties as an adult woman and worked a 12-hour shift at the hospital. Nobody knew it was my birthday and it ended up being a totally normal day. I decided this year that I don’t have to accept the boring-ness of adult birthdays quite yet and took the entire day off to do as I wished. It was the best decision I have made in a while and it was the best birthday I’ve had in a long time. On my birthday eve, the Copelands cooked me up a yummy BBQ for dinner and Liz made me a chocolatey birthday cake that I ate too much of. They really spoiled me.

The next morning, my mom and sisters took me to breakfast at my favorite breakfast spot: Kneaders. It was the most beautiful morning and the French toast has never tasted better. Mmm. As you can tell, food plays a large part in making my day enjoyable.

After breakfast, my mom took me shopping to find some new clothes to fit my quickly growing belly and then I went home to spend the afternoon being lazy with my husband. We spent time outside in the beautiful sunshine, did a little packing for our weekend move and then I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to decide where I wanted to go to dinner.

Finally, I decided on Red Robin and we had the most enjoyable and satisfying dinner. I love those steak fries so, so much.

After dinner, we headed back to my mama’s for cake and ice cream. I don’t know if it’s a Tramel thing or if it is like this in every household but all 5 children pick Funfetti cake as their birthday cake of choice. The trick is, though, making sure you use the rainbow chip frosting to top it off. This night was not an exception. I ate my funfetti/ rainbow chip birthday cake until my baby boy had no more room to move. Speaking of baby boy…I was 25 weeks pregnant on my 25th birthday. Kind of fun, right? Here it is, the 25 week belly:

Thank you to all of my family and friends who called, texted or Facebooked on my special day. It truly was a happy day for me.

24 Weeks

I’m not sure where my chalkboard is…we are between moves and it is packed away in a box. Until I find it, the park on a beautiful evening will have to do. I can’t believe I’m already 6 months pregnant!

 

This is my favorite week of the year. Memorial Day, BBQs, the beginning of summer, and well, my Birthday. I can’t believe I’m going to be 25!

Also, I have really cute sisters.

Babymoon 2012

**Warning: Picture Overload**

James and I just got home from a much needed vacation and kind of a last hurrah before baby comes. I started the vacay a day early by flying to Las Vegas to meet my family for my cousin’s wedding day. I kind of took the long way to Vegas by having a layover first in San Francisco. It was worth it though- I got to buy treats.

Most people run through the airport to catch their next flight. Kylee, at 6 months pregnant, runs through the airport to find the Ghirardelli store so that she has plenty of chocolate for the next 90 minute flight.

Johana and Travis got married on a yacht while sailing over Lake Las Vegas. Um, I don’t think you could ask for anything more romantic.

We sure love getting to spend time with our daddy. It makes Courtney extra sassy.

People think we look alike. I don’t see it.

I said goodbye to my family and hello to my BFFs. Thanks to Ashley for opening her cute home to us for the night. Then it was on to Cali….

The next morning we were at Catalina Island.

The boys got in the water while we got some sunnin’.

Later on, Spencer won the mini-golf tournament. He wasn’t excited at all.

James had to catch up so he went and won the ping pong tournament.

This picture was the highlight of our hour in Ensenada. Seriously. 23 weeks pregnant has never looked so good.

James played “Minute to Win it” one night. This was his challenge. I’ve never been so proud.

We love these 2.

When we got off the boat, we took a little trip through Hollywood on our way to the beach. Caitlin was happy to see Johnny Depp’s star. The real reason though that we were there was because of this:

Ever since I saw the pictures that eventually landed Mary-Kate in rehab, I’ve wanted to find the Olsen twins on the Hollywood walk of fame.

We then headed to the beach. Somehow we decided on Venice beach. Half because James had lost his head and had to find it in the sand but mostly so that we could all get our licenses for medical marijuana on the boardwalk.

Our last stop of the trip was to my happy place: Disneyland. I feel like a child when I’m there. If I could, I would take up a permanent residence on Main Street USA.

James had a cruise hangover this morning. The Dramamine hadn’t kicked in yet at this point- hence the stoner face.

Spencer made the bad choice of sitting in the front. He paid for that later.

At this moment, to be exact….and yes, I am the big one taking up the entire picture.

When I live on Main Street, I will eat one of these cream cheese filled pretzels every morning for breakfast.

We had beautiful weather.

After my feet swelled to twice their normal size, I parked my behind on a bench with the other senior citizens and let my feet rest for 2 hours while the others ran around like normal 25 year olds. Turns out, sitting on a bench for multiple hours ensures you a prime spot for the parade. I also made friends with the old women sharing my seat.

 

James brought me ice cream with sprinkles so I let him share my bench for the parade.

Indie was worth the wait.

What a magical day we had. I was so glad to be able to introduce my child to Disneyland even before he makes his grand exit. I can already tell he loves it- he was squirming like crazy all day.

Thank you to James, Caitlan and Spencer for making the past week the perfect break from work/moving/life. I am well renewed and ready to finish out this summer, kankles and all.

Weeks 17 & 18

My wonderful mother-in-law bought me some maternity pants this week. I’ve never been happier in my life…I think I will wear maternity pants even when I’m not pregnant. So comfortable!

Don’t expect that I’ll be seeing my toes for much longer.

Also, I hope to also post about something other than being pregnant soon. I know that it is probably boring to everyone except me. Unfortunately, it’s about the only thing going on in our life right now. Hopefully this new warm weather will change that.
